EcoConscious Collective was founded by two Univeristy of Guelph science students who are knowledgable and passionate about zero-waste living. When you make a purchase through EcoConscious Collective, you’re selecting proven sustainable products and reducing waste within your community. We sat down with one of the founders, Kristine Sondergaard, to find out the inside scoop about their business!

What inspired you to start your business?

We both had a passion for environmentalism and sustainable living. We both noticed how much research can go into buying sustainable products, let alone starting to live an eco-friendlier lifestyle. We wanted to help people navigate how to live sustainably. EcoConscious Collective started as an educational blog and has now grown into an online sustainable gift box store!

What problem were you trying to solve?

We realized many of the household products we use daily, can produce significant amounts of waste every year. We wanted to change that! Instead of searching for individual eco-friendly products, our sustainable boxes include all the essentials you need to start living more sustainably.

What helps you to keep generating you new ideas to grow or change your business?

Our amazing business advisors (a.k.a family and friends). They are so helpful when we need feedback or advice on a new idea. Plus, we all know family, they don't hold back!

What’s a piece of advice you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Don’t be afraid of change, embrace it! Adaptability is a huge part of starting a business. So, it’s okay to fail, but that doesn’t mean give up. It means pivot, get advice, rethink your idea!

Don't miss out on their beautiful holiday gift boxes! Check out their awesome products and convenient gift packages by going to!
