Who is the Academy for?
The Lang Leadership Academy is suited for high school students (grade 9 to 12) across Canada that wish to advance their sustainable business knowledge, gain professional development skills and have fun! Prior knowledge of business is not a requirement to participate! We are looking for high achievers who are interested in learning more about business and how it can be a powerful force for good.
How to participate?
There are three ways to participate in the Lang Leadership Academy:
Business Challenges
Facilitated by Lang Commerce students, the Business Challenges are virtual workshops that will guide students through modules that explore a variety of business themes. The workshops are embedded within the high school class and are adapted for the grade 9, 10, 11 and 12 level. Select from three different business challenge modules, including entrepreneurship using design thinking, sustainability using the SDGs, and marketing analytics challenge and are each 1-hour in length.

Life hacks and tactics for your future: Leadership Academy Workshops
In these workshops, students gain valuable skills needed to succeed in life after high school, including presentation, public speaking, networking and interview skills. The workshops are facilitated by leaders in career development from the University of Guelph and the Lang School of Business and Economics. Students are free to directly register for these workshops and are hosted outside of class.
These workshops are ideal for highly engaged students or those belonging to student clubs and will be offered in the winter of 2023.
