April 4: First Annual CME Trading Simulation a Success
CME hosted the first annual CME Trading Simulation competition on Saturday, April 2. The event was a huge success. Twenty-nine teams took part from eight different universities. The competition was created to provide students with the opportunity to compete in a daylong trading simulation, gain valuable experience, and network with industry professionals. The students were joined by faculty members, as well as a few recruiters, an executive member from Burgundy Asset Management and the CGAs. In addition, a Vice-President from RBC joined the group for lunch and provided career tips to students.
A team from McGill earned the highest return at the end of the trading day and was awarded $1,000 for first place. Second place and $450 went to a team with students from Western, Waterloo and Guelph. Finally, third place and $300 went to a team from our own Bachelor of Commerce.
