After a long winter lots of people are surely dreaming of firing up the BBQ and grilling a nice steak, but the cost of that steak will be more than it was last summer. Food prices are on the rise and products like beef, pork and coffee are among those that will cost consumers more at the checkout.
Professors Sylvain Charlebois and Michael von Massow were interviewed by CBC this week on rising food prices. Read "Cost of meat, groceries going up, just in time for BBQ season" [1] featuring comments from Professor von Massow and listen to "Brace yourself, some food prices are on the rise" [2] featuring an interview with Professor Charlebois. Professor Charlebois was also interviewed by CTV on the same topic. Read "Why hosting a BBQ will cost more this grilling season." [3]
