Four business students and one alumna from the College of Business and Economics will be developing their startups through CBaSE’s Hub Incubator Program [1] over the next four months. CBaSE recently announced [2] the new group of startups that would be joining the program that offers funding, mentors, office space and other resources to help budding entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground.

Matt McCoy and Michael Sutton

Business students Matt McCoy (Management Economics and Finance) and Michael Sutton (Marketing Management) are developing a quick and affordable BBQ cleaning and detailing service called M&M BBQ Boys [3]. 

Xavier Chan

Management Economics and Finance student Xavier Chan is one-half of a team making waves in the e-bike business. He co-founded Tempus Electric Bikes [4] with Ikenna Ofoha. Their bikes feature racer inspired design and are hand-built in Canada using aircraft-grade steel.

Dylan Robertson

Real Estate and Housing student Dylan Robertson is a recent addition to the team heading a startup called Souper [5], a Guelph-based soup delivery service. Alongside founders Allan Mai (B.Sc. Food Science) and Brandon Guild (M.Sc. Food Science), Souper aims to combat the limited options consumers face when seeking a quick, healthy meal.

Margaret Baker

Marketing Management alumna Margaret Baker is part of the Soleluna Cosmetics [6] team that is fulfilling the need for natural skincare, haircare and body products. In collaboration with founder and biochemistry undergraduate Kenna Whitnell, Margaret is helping to bring these handcrafted products to market.

Other Hub startups

NGTronix Industries Corp [7]. is working to reduce the risk of seniors falling and injuring themselves with an early warning fall detection system.

Mindfulness/Matter aims to provide adolescents with a diverse toolbox of mindfulness and self-care techniques that will help to manage students’ stress and anxiety, and enhance overall well-being through greater mental, emotional, and attentional balance.
