On Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 (5-8pm), the University of Guelph will be host to a LAICOS Enterprise Hub event, which will celebrate the power of social enterprise within the food industry.

The LAICOS Enterprise Hub consists of ten organizations across “the corridor” (Kitchener to Toronto) who support the development of businesses and non-profits with incubation and acceleration services. The event on May 16th will bring social enterprises together to share, enjoy and improve their impact, with a focus on the food industry.  The event will feature two keynote speakers: Kathleen Rodenburg (Assistant Professor, School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, University of Guelph) and Court Desautels (President, Neighbourhood Group of Companies) as well as community partners who will have interactive stations. The speakers will focus on how individuals can contribute to the global mission of ending world hunger through innovative and sustainable business practices.

University of Guelph’ s Centre for Business and Student Enterprise (CBaSE) is a founding member of LAICOS Enterprise Hub. CBaSE Program Manager, Erin Doherty, is very excited about the opportunity to collaborate: “It is imperative that we foster dialogue surrounding one of the world’s greatest challenges – food security. The corridor is home to a number of organizations who are leaders in the food industry and LAICOS Enterprise Hub is proud to be hosting them on May 16th!”
