Brandon: My research is interdisciplinary. It's focused on agriculture, the environment and renewable energy. It's important because the global population is growing, which means we need more food and more energy for everyone, but people also want to see that food and energy produced in sustainable and renewable ways.

Brandon: The most exciting aspect of my work is we do a lot of interdisciplinary research and we never know where it's going to take us, so we do engineering we do biology and just coming in and seeing where the projects are going to lead us everyday is pretty interesting.

Brandon: Graduate school is a challenge, but it's a very rewarding challenge and if you went through your undergraduate hoping to dig deeper into problems and find a greater sense of discovery, graduate studies is the perfect place [music fades in] to get into those opportunities.
