Madhur: I'm an ecologist. I work on responses of ecological systems to global ecological changes, which could be anything from climate change to how humans are impacting the environment.�

Madhur: My work is important because it really is necessary for long-term human environment sustainability.

Madhur: The most exciting moments are the moments of discovery when you're doing research. So when you, for example, are looking at an analysis that you've just completed or you are looking at the output of a model that you have created to look at different scenarios and it's actually when you find things in there that you didn't expect [music fades in] and that's where you can learn new things.
