Helen: I do research in the area of knowledge mobilization

and communication for agriculture, environment and rural development.

And I work here in Canada and also around the world.

Helen: Internationally, I work with organizations like the United Nations and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research to focus on community based food security and poverty alleviation. 
And in these projects we're working with farmer field schools, agricultural innovations that reflect farmers needs and changing natural environments.

Helen: Countries like Peru, Bolivia and also in Nepal where the context is a bit more complex due to the recent earthquake. 
In Ontario I work on issues of rural connectivity, ultra high-speed internet and broadband access for communities currently not having high speed internet or facing difficulties and barriers in accessing wireless,

but especially fiber optic connectivity.
