[Music fades out] My role with the Saugeen Ojibway nation is to serve as a technical coordinator for environmental [University of Guelph logo and text fade out] assessments that are carried out in their traditional territories. So what that means is I get to bring my western science, my ecology, to bear on the topic and the goal is to meld that with traditional knowledge that is held within the community such that decisions can be made regarding environmental management in their traditional territories that bring both knowledge systems to bear. 0:36 - 1:00 Neil: When you pursue graduate work you're surrounding yourself with people that love the topic area, like myself. I love what I do. And if you don't have that same passion, you're going to have a challenge in completing your graduate studies. There's no fame, there's no fortune, there's long hours, but it's really fun, it's really exciting, it's really [Music fades in] rewarding if you love what you do. 1:01 - 1:06 [Screen fades in to show OAC logo on a white background, red website link] Text: www.uoguelph.ca/oac [Screen fades to black]
