Dr. Philip Gosling [University logo and text fade out] and his wife Susan Gosling were extremely kind and they are very passionate about the environment. They wanted to save the trees that are dying because of disease or climatic changes. As a result of their donation we now have an excellent centre that can cryobank almost all of the species in Canada at this time. 0:36 - 1:02 [Screen changes to video clips of Praveen and colleagues discussing at a table in GRIPP, examining of plants close up, scientists examining plants on the cryobank shelf] Praveen: GRIPP really offers excellent opportunities to do research in plant development in controlled environments and also saving species at the same time. The programs actually attract a lot of graduate students because A) They are interested in learning plant development. B) They may be interested in developing new products and new crops. And C) interested in developing international research programs in collaboration with other renowned institutes all over the world. 1:03 - 1:14 [Screen changes to video of Prof. Praveen Saxena speaking on a background of an empty lecture hall] Praveen: Many of my students are working as senior scientists in biotechnology companies and at least five of them are faculty members in North America. [Music fades in] In fact, one of them at the University of Guelph. 1:15 - 1:20 [Screen fades in to show OAC logo on a white background, red website link] Text: www.uoguelph.ca/oac [Screen fades to black]
