[University of Guelph logo and text fade out] I focus on things such as immigration into rural communities.I focus on issues such as farmland preservation. I look at issues such as the natural heritage and how that's dealt with in rural communities, really from a planning and economic development perspective. We have all kinds of different perspectives on the future of communities. Different people have different aspirations for their communities and part of the challenge is working through with people the changes that they envision that will happen in their communities in helping them to move in a positive direction looking to the future. 0:58 - 1:14 [Screen flashes to video of Prof. Wayne Caldwell on a background of an empty lecture hall] Wayne: If I reflect on some of my past graduate students and what they're doing within the workplace, they're working across the country in every province and every territory.
