CRA scams being reported again in Guelph

The Guelph Police Service – Fraud Unit wishes to notify the public about an ongoing scam involving fraudulent communications; phone calls, mail, text messages, and emails claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency.

These communications instruct the taxpayer to provide personal information in order to receive a refund or benefit payment.

These are scams and taxpayers should NEVER respond to these fraudulent communications, or click on any of the links provided.

As per the Canada Revenue Agency Website, the CRA will not request personal information of any kind from a taxpayer by email or text message.
