The University of Guelph placed 16th worldwide for sustainable impacts on society, according to a new global ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assessed the progress of more than 1,500 universities from 100 countries and territories toward meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The 17 goals\u2014which include providing inclusive and equitable quality education, achieving gender equality, and building sustainable cities and communities\u2014were adopted by the UN in 2016 to provide a framework for developing the world in a sustainable way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


U of G earned high marks for development goals including poverty and hunger alleviation and clean water and sanitation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
