1960s<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

 Jerrold Beech<\/strong>, Dipl. \u201967, joined a writer\u2019s group after being diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s disease eight years ago. He recently completed his third book with all proceeds going to Parkinson\u2019s research.<\/p>\n

Kathy Cowbrough<\/strong>, B.H.Sc. \u201967, hosted a reunion for MAC \u201967 classmates in Retford, England.<\/p>\n

Adeline Misener<\/strong>, B.H.Sc. \u201968, established the Rotary Club of Hanwell in Nova Scotia with 21 members. Misener is the club\u2019s first president and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for her achievements.<\/p>\n

Douglas Procter<\/strong>, B.Sc. (Agr.) \u201968, received a 2015 Governor General\u2019s Caring Canadian Award, which recognizes community volunteers. Procter is retired from teaching high school science and lives in Grand Bend, Ont., with his wife, Debbie.<\/p>\n

 1980s<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Valerie Jenner, <\/strong>BA \u201981, recently moved to British Columbia.<\/p>\n

Jennifer La Chapelle<\/strong>, BA \u201981, was elected vice-president\/president elect of the Ontario Public Library Association for 2016\/17.<\/p>\n

\"Mats<\/a>Mats Selen<\/strong>, B.Sc. \u201982, M.Sc. \u201983, received the 2016 U.S. Professor of the Year award from the Carnegie Foundation, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He is a physics professor and associate head for undergraduate programs at the University of Illinois.<\/p>\n

 James Ball<\/strong>, B.Sc. \u201985, M.Sc. \u201987, received the Irwin Talesnick Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Science Teachers\u2019 Association of Ontario. He is a physics teacher at John F. Ross CVI in Guelph.<\/p>\n

 Desmond Layne<\/strong>, B.Sc. (Agr.) \u201986, is director of two undergraduate programs at Washington State University. In addition to program administration, he is also a professor of pomology in the Department of Horticulture.<\/p>\n

Julia Brown<\/strong>, DVM \u201989, has achieved the gold level in ice dancing.<\/p>\n

1990s<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Ed Barre<\/strong>, PhD \u201992, was promoted to full professor of human nutrition at Cape Breton University. His research involves type 2 diabetes and its potential molecular triggers, as well as pre- and post-onset management. He lives in Sydney, N.S., with his wife, Kazimiera, and their son, Alexander. Their daughter, Emily, teaches secondary school in Barre\u2019s hometown of Barrie, Ont.<\/p>\n

 Krista Kleinwort<\/strong>, BA \u201992, is a registered social worker and positive parenting coach.<\/p>\n

Tracey Coutts<\/strong>, BA \u201993, published a children\u2019s picture book called How it Happened in Hotterly Hollow<\/em> (Inkwater Press) in October 2015.<\/p>\n

 Jennifer Spreckley<\/strong> (nee Kinsman), B.Comm. \u201994, is founder and director of Kingsway Pilates, a boutique home-based studio in Toronto. She is also hoping to educate schools on the importance of integrating more movement into the classroom.<\/p>\n

 Jane Lewis<\/strong>, BA \u201995, is a Guelph-based singer-songwriter. She recently released a video of her cover of the Beatles\u2019 Come Together<\/em>, which can be viewed at janelewis.ca.<\/p>\n

Sandra Muir-Leach<\/strong>, BA \u201995, recently opened a new bed and breakfast in Guelph.<\/p>\n

Deborah Lynn Rumble-Dani<\/strong>, BA \u201995, is taking cooking classes with Greenwich College and hopes to volunteer with the Greenwich Community Hospice and the Stables Care Centre in Charlton, England.<\/p>\n

2000s<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Cynthia Gordon<\/strong>, BA \u201900, received her master\u2019s degree in integrated studies from Athabasca University.<\/p>\n

Terence Humphreys<\/strong>, PhD \u201901, was elected president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality.<\/p>\n

Grazyna Adamska-Jarecka<\/strong>, BA \u201902, was commissioned to paint portraits of Wayne Martin<\/strong>, DVM \u201967, M.Sc. \u201970, professor emeritus at U of G\u2019s Ontario Veterinary College, and Ian Dohoo<\/strong>, DVM \u201976, professor emeritus at the University of Prince Edward Island, to celebrate their achievements in veterinary medicine.<\/p>\n

Andrew Kaszowksi<\/strong>, BAA \u201906, started a new role as communications lead at the South West Community Care Access Centre, where he is responsible for communicating the rollout of integrated electronic health records in the region.<\/p>\n

Kyla Baron<\/strong>, B.Sc. \u201907, defended her PhD thesis in December 2015 and will graduate from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa in June.<\/p>\n

Megan Dell<\/strong>, BA \u201907, was married in December 2014, and will welcome her first child with her husband in May. She lives in Western Canada and works as a sales manager in the hotel industry.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Althouse<\/strong>, BA \u201908, and Stuart Clark<\/strong>, BA \u201908, will be married in Toronto in August.<\/p>\n

Carrie Woods<\/strong>, M.Sc. \u201908, had collaborative research on tropical canopies in Costa Rica published in Discover<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n

Kristina Rocci<\/strong> (nee Feher), BA \u201909, works as a web content coordinator for a Communitech start-up company in Kitchener, Ont. Her role includes digital marketing and creative.<\/p>\n

 Christina Boone<\/strong>, B.Sc. \u201913, bought her first house in 2015.<\/p>\n

Pat Bowley, <\/strong>PhD \u201913, wrote a new book about the University of Guelph\u2019s ice cream technology course called Celebrating 100 Years at the College of Ice Cream. <\/em>The book looks at the origins of the course at U of G, as well as the ice cream industry in Ontario. Bowley wrote an earlier book about the history of soybean farming in Ontario.<\/p>\n

Bruce Sargent<\/strong>, B.Comm. \u201913, won two Canadian Agri Marketing Association awards for projects completed by his company, Farm Boy Productions.<\/p>\n

Melissa Zigler<\/strong>, B.Sc. \u201914, is in her second year of veterinary school at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland.<\/p>\n

Cole Crawford<\/strong>, B.Comm. \u201915, cycled from Vancouver, B.C., to Miami, Fla., to raise money for school supplies and bicycles for teachers in Cambodia. To read about his adventure, visit sols24x7ride.com.<\/p>\n

Nichole Reynolds<\/strong>, B.Comm. \u201915, got married, moved from Ontario to Saskatchewan, and \u201clanded an awesome job that\u2019s the start of a career.\u201d<\/p>\n
