\"\"<\/a>The local United Way recognized the University of Guelph with major awards for its 2016 campaign. The U of G community raised $625,000 in one of its most successful fundraising drives ever.<\/p>\n

The University received the \u201cCampaign of the Year Award\u201d for the public sector. The school also won the Leadership Award, given to the workplace that had the largest increase in donors giving more than $1,000 in a year.<\/p>\n

Three departments also took home awards. Physical Resources won the \u201cJoint Union-Management Award,\u201d and the departments of Hospitality Services and Student Housing Services won \u201cEducation Division Spirit Awards.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U of G campaign exceeded $600,000 for the fifth year in a row and raised more than a half-million dollars for the seventh time.<\/p>\n
