    Description

    Diane Borsato (BFA York University, MFA Concordia University, MA Performance Studies, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University) has established an international reputation for her social and interventionist practices, performance, video, photography, and sculpture. She was awarded the Victor Martyn-Lynch Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts, and was twice nominated for the Sobey Prize. She has exhibited and performed at the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Power Plant, the Art Gallery of York University, the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the National Art Centre and in galleries and museums in the US, France, Germany, Mexico, Taiwan and Japan. In her projects she explores social and experiential modes of learning, and has worked closely with various practitioners including artists, dancers, and amateur naturalists. As Associate Professor at the University in Guelph, she is the Coordinator of the interdisciplinary studio area called Experimental Studio, and has taught advanced courses that explore the relationships between art and everyday life­ including Food and Art, Special Topics on Walking, OUTDOOR SCHOOL and LIVE ART.
