    About

    Frances Henry has a PhD in History and a Master’s of Library and Information Science from Western University. She also has a Master’s of Arts in History, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Classical Studies from the University of Ottawa. Her proposed master’s thesis will considers how cultural trauma shaped the development of the queer community in Canada due to historical issues such as the criminalization of homosexuality and the HIV/AIDs epidemic. She is currently working on a book based on her doctoral thesis. She is the co-author of three chapters on gender and sexuality in the furry subculture, published in Furscience (2024), and has articles published in the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies. Her research areas include gender, sexuality, queer communities, historical sociology, and the intersections of sexuality, gender, crime, and culture.
