Research Interests

Rebecca’s dissertation examines experiences of paid work, caregiving responsibilities, financial struggles and health concerns among women recipients of the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) with a mental health disability of anxiety and/or depression.

Focusing on increasingly disabling social and economic contexts, her research challenges individualized and medicalized definitions of mental health and disability by employing an intersectional feminist political economy framework integrated with the social model of disability to understand new processes of disablement behind the growth in women applying for ODSP.
