Tentative Settlement Reached - August 18, 2017

I am pleased to announce that the PSA and the University have agreed to a tentative settlement that, once ratified, will cover the period May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2020.
A ratification meeting will be arranged as soon as reasonably practical.
A reminder that only PSA members in good standing are entitled to vote on the agreement and access documents in the members only section of the PSA website.
The negotiating team is unanimous in their endorsement of this agreement and I would like to thank Shelley Gallina, Co-op and Career Services, Brennan Reniers, Student Housing Services, and Kirk Sprague, Library for their tireless work, passion and contributions on the part of all P&M staff. It was a pleasure to work so closely with these folks and I am indebted to them for the commitment they made.
I would also like to recognize the rest of the Employment Terms and Conditions Committee, which, in addition to the negotiating committee included: Kim Thorne, SEDRD , Sarah Bruce, PSA Administrative Assistant, Heidi Huisman, Dean's Office CBE, Tina Goebel, Dean's Office, COA. This committee worked diligently over the past year on your behalf to prepare for negotiations and this preparation was instrumental in formulating our positions and informing the University of our concerns.
The University was represented by Chris Nutt, Director, Staff Relations, Martha Harley, AVP (HR), Michelle Fach, Director, Open Learning and Ed Townsley, Executive Director, Hospitality Services. I think it is important to acknowledge that, without their hard work and open mindedness, we would not have been as successful as we have been. This team was patient with us as we conveyed the thoughts, concerns, and opinions of our membership and gave us the opportunity to express our many diverse views. We appreciate their co-operation in coming to an agreement that we feel is beneficial to all P&M staff and fair to the University.
