Dr. Gerarda Darlington Receives The John Bell Award

Congratulations to Dr Gerarda Darlington (Professor, Department of Mathematics & Statistics), winner of the 2018 John Bell Award. The award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to university education, was awarded during the summer convocation ceremonies. 

As Associate Dean (Academic) for the College of Engineering & Physical Sciences, Dr Darlington was integral in the creation of the University of Guelph Library Science Commons, and was instrumental in obtaining approval for the creation of the Physical Science & Engineering Education Research Centre. She also helped implement a bridging program between the University of Guelph and Fanshawe College.

Dr Darlington has previously been awarded the UGFA Distinguished Professor Award. More recently, she was one of thirty YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction honourees for her accomplishments and mentoring in STEM.
