PSEER Welcomes Professor John R. Donald As Director
The PSEER Steering Committee is happy to welcome our new Director, Dr. John R. Donald, Associate Professor in the School of Engineering (SOE). John has been appointed to a two-year term as the new Director of PSEER effective January 1, 2019. Please join us in congratulation John.
Dr. John Donald, P.Eng., joined the University of Guelph in 2013 after 20 years of leadership roles in engineering consulting and post-secondary education. For the past 5 years, John has been deeply involved in the School of Engineering (SOE) accreditation, with his main task being the implementation of a graduate attribute and curriculum improvement process, as required by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. John currently teaches in the core SOE design sequence and provides a graduate level engineering leadership course. Areas of research interest include excellence in engineering professional skills pedagogy, engineering leadership development and engineering design practice. As part of his focus on educational practice, John established the SOE Multimedia Instructional Development Studio, that allows faculty to easily create multimedia to enhance classroom learning. John is active in the national education community as Past-President (2017-18) of the Canadian Engineering Education Association, and is a member of the National Initiative on Capacity Building and Knowledge Creation for Engineering Leadership (NICKEL) community of practice. John is co-founder of the national Graduate Attribute and Curriculum Improvement Process (GACIP) Summit, which has been running for five years.
