Award Description

Clara E. Elliott Education Scholarships

This scholarship is payable in 4 annual instalments of $2,000. The recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement and evidence of participation in leadership roles, especially teaching and education. References from teachers and overall presentation of their application material will also be used to determine award recipients. To maintain the scholarship, the recipients must continue to demonstrate the qualities on which the award was given. Students accepted into the program will be invited to apply.

Qualifications: Academically outstanding students, normally full-time, who are entering the 1st semester of the B.A.Sc. program in the College of Family and Consumer Studies and who plan to pursue a career in teaching. Preference will be given to students planning a teaching career in areas related to Family and Consumer Studies including early childhood education and nutrition education.

Amount: Two scholarships of $8,000.
