Award Description

James and Marjorie Pinkney Studentship Research Award

This award was established by Dr. R. James Pinkney, a distinguished alumnus of OVC '37. Dr. Pinkney was a verterinary practitioner in Cooksville for over forty years and received numerous awards for sportsmanship in agricultural competition and leadership in agriculture. The award will enable an OVC undergraduate student in years 1, 2, or 3 to pursue, during the summer months, a research project related to the health and welfare of animals. Students taking part in the year 3 externship program may receive a portion of the award for the non-externship portion of the summer. Applications must be submitted by the candidates and their supervising faculty members to the OVC Assistant Dean, Student Affairs, by March 15. The OVC Awards Committee will select the recipient by May 1.
