58-310 Media in Canadian Life W(3-0)

An examination of the crucial role which media - print and publishing, journalism and the press, broadcasting and the electronic media, and the creative and performing arts - play in communicating and shaping representations of Canada. The course critically examines how ideas and culture are generated and transmitted in Canada, examining aspects of each of these various media and analyzing the work of various theorists and interpreters of the role of media in Canadian Life.
