Biological Science

Sixteen biological science courses which must include: the remaining course in the introductory biological science sequence 17-115, 65-100, 92-102; genetics 40-200; 1 ecology course from 15-201, 15-311, 65-429; 1 physiology course from 17-230, 75-3941:2, 98-305, 92-319; cell biology 15-221. Eight of the biological science courses must be at 300-400 level. - 16 courses
*Acceptable science courses selected from: biological science, chemistry, computing and information science, mathematics, statistics, physics, geology and geomorphology, or other science courses on the approved list, at least 4 of which must be at 300-400 level. - 8 courses
Four Arts and Social Science courses - 4 courses
Four additional acceptable courses (these may include 1 of 15-102, 19-106, 76-102) - 4 courses
Total: 40 courses

Notes:
At least 12 of the science courses must be 300 or 400 level of which 4 must be at 400 level.

Honours Biological Science with a Minor

The requirements and schedules are the same as for Honours Biological Science. Minor subjects which can be taken are Botany, Ecology, Genetics, Microbiology, Nutritional Science, Zoology. Details of specific course requirements are given after the specialized programs in the respective subjects.

A minor in another subject not here listed may be taken with the approval of the deans concerned. Subject to the approval of the dean of the college in which the student is enrolled, the total science requirements may be reduced to 28 courses in order to permit a student to take a minor in an arts or social science area.
