Award Description

Kenneth O. Hammill - Blount Canada Scholarship

Created in honour of Kenneth Osborne Hammill, a long time friend of the University and retired plant manager of Blount Canada. Winners will be chosen from the pool of those not selected for the President's Scholarship. The winners will bear the honorary title of "Blount Canada Scholar". This award is not tenable with other Senate entrance awards.

Qualifications: Students from the Province of Ontario entering one of the following programs: B.Sc., B.Sc.(Agr.), B.Sc.(Eng.), B.Sc.(Env.), B.Comm., B.A.Sc., and B.A. Recipients will have to maintain a B+ average or higher and be full-time students in order to qualify for subsequent instalments. During the summer after the 3rd year, the scholars will undertake an enrichment experiential program related to their studies. A grant of up to $1,200 to offset the costs of this enrichment program will be made available to each student.
Amount: Four scholarships of up to $9,600 payable in semesterly instalments, one available for competition every year.
