47-342 Late 18th and 19th Century Drama (in German) W(3-1) [0.50]

This course is offered in conjunction with 55-342 for students in the German Minor who will study texts in German. Lectures are in English. German and Austrian drama from ca. 1780 to ca. 1900 within a European context. Dramatists studied will include Schiller, Goethe, Kleist, Büchner, Hauptmann, Ibsen, Wedekind, Chekov, Shaw and Schnitzler. (Offered in odd-numbered years.)

Prerequisites: 47-256, 47-259.
Exclusions: 55-342.
