Course Description

49-485 Totalitarianism in Europe, 1922-1953 (3-0) (H) [0.50]

Using fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, and the U.S.S.R. under Stalin as the major example, this seminar course will study the causes and the nature of "totalitarian" regimes in 20th-century Europe. The approach is comparative, and the emphasis will be on internal events.

Prerequisites: 49-251.
