Selection of electives is subject to the following rules:

  1. At least [1.00] in the program must be in the Arts and Social Sciences.
  2. [0.50] elective must be a physics course from 76-204, 76-226, 76-244, 76-246.
  3. Students who lack a background in computer science must select one of their electives from 27-120, 27-150, 27-160 to be taken by the end of their second year.
  4. Approval of the chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry must be obtained for the election of courses not specifically recommended.
  5. Options for an "Area of focus" or a minor are available. Subject areas include Biochemistry, Computing and Information Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics. Please consult with your Departmental advisor for more detail.
