School of Languages and Literatures

Note: Literary texts are, at all levels, studied in the original language. Students registering in these courses will be expected to have the appropriate knowledge. Higher level courses in Latin are available as language modules attached to selected Classical Studies courses which are taken as double-weighted courses. 61-110 Preliminary Latin I F(3-0) [0.50]

A beginning course in Latin providing the fundamentals of structure and grammar. (This course may not be taken by anyone who has OAC Latin).

61-111 Preliminary Latin II W(3-0) [0.50]

A continuation of 61-110.

Prerequisites: 61-110 or Year 4 (Grade 12) Latin.

61-200 Latin Literature F(3-0) [0.50]

A course in Latin literature based on relevant texts.

Prerequisites: OAC Latin or 61-111.
Course Profile

61-410 Directed Readings in Latin Literature F(3-0) [0.50]

A reading course in Latin Literature designed according to the needs and the interests of the individual student.

Prerequisites: [1.00] credit at the 300 level in Latin.

61-415 Research Paper: Latin F,W(3-0) [0.50]

A major essay on an area of study to be determined in consultation with the department.

Prerequisites: [1.00] credit at the 300 level in Latin.
