Courses identified by asterisks are either departmental prerequisites for subsequent courses (*) or have been identified by departments as relevant to the interdisciplinary approach of the program(**).

In addition, students are strongly urged, though not required, to have or develop a reading knowledge of the French language, preferably to the OAC level. Courses FREN*2060, FREN*3200, and FREN*3210, all given in French, are particularly designed to further a knowledge of French Canada and are strongly recommended for students in Canadian Studies.
