Agincourt Milk Producers' Association Scholarship

Qualification(s): Student preferably from a farm family in York County or the Region of Durham. The student must be entering the semester 7 of the B.A.Sc. program with a good academic record and be majoring in Applied Human Nutrition. Presented in the Fall semester.
Amount: One award of $600
Ann E. Barber Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1963 in memory of Ann E. Barber, former superintendent of Macdonald Hall from 1931 to 1942 and Dean of Women from 1946 until her retirement in 1956, by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Apply to the CSAHS Undergraduate Awards Committee with a one-page description of contributions to student activities by April 1. [I0023]
Qualification(s): Full-time student in the B.A.Sc. program or the Marketing Management or Housing and Real Estate Management major of the B.Comm. program who has completed between 5.0 and 10.0 course credits and has achieved a minimum 80% average in the semester just completed. The award will be given to the student who has made the greatest contribution to student activities in residence or on campus.

A.M. Bell Prize

Jean C. Bradley Memorial Prize
This prize was established by the 1929 class of Macdonald Institute in memory of Jean C. Bradley, instructor of foods and cookery at Macdonald Institute, and is administered by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Application not required. [C0032]

Dorothy Britton Memorial Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded from funds donated from the estate of Dorothy Britton (MAC '39). Awarded on the basis of high academic achievement. Application not required. [I0015]

Anne Callagan Memorial Scholarship
The alumni, faculty and staff of the former College of Family and Consumer Studies established a scholarship in memory of Professor Anne Callagan. Offered in odd-numbered years. Application not required. [I0038]

Jean Carter Memorial Gerontology Scholarship
Established by the family and friends of Jean Carter, a Mac' 38 graduate who was actively involved in the life of the College and the University. Apply by letter to the CSAHS Undergraduate Awards Committee, Dean's Office by April 1st, including a statement that outlines the student's experience working with the elderly in a volunteer capacity as well as extracurricular involvement the student may have and two letters of reference, one of which should be from someone who can speak to the student's volunteer experiences with the elderly, while the other should comment on the extracurricular activities of the student. Qualification(s): Undergraduate student in the CSAHS who has completed at least 10.0 credits with a minimum 70% cumulative average and has made a significant contribution to the care of the elderly. Preference will be given to students in the B.A.Sc. program majoring in Gerontology.

Elizabeth Landels Casselman Scholarship

Ethel M. Christie Scholarship

CSAHS Student Volunteer Scholarship
Inspired by Theresa Firestone, FACS '78, and funded by the Harshman Fellowships Society and Pfizer Canada Inc.. Students may apply on their own or be recommended by other students, faculty members or administrators from non-profit organisations. Applications are available from the CSAHS Dean's Office. Apply to the CSAHS Dean's Office with a completed application form, a summary letter outlining the student's volunteer experience and what has been gained or learned from this experience that has enhanced his/her personal growth and/or career goals, and 2 letters of recommendation by April 1. Qualification(s): This scholarship will be awarded to the Student Volunteer of the year to help defray the costs associated with volunteerism.
Amount: One award of $350 (an equal amount will be awarded to the charitable organisation of the recipients choice).
Kathleen and R. Douglas Kennedy Scholarship in CSAHS
Kathleen (MAC '39) and Douglas (OAC '39) Kennedy met at a "hop" on campus in 1937 and later married. They established this scholarship to celebrate their time on campus and their 62 years of marriage. Apply to Student Financial Services by October 7 with a completed Need Assessment Form. [I0546]
Qualification(s): This scholarship will be awarded to a student in CSAHS with high academic achievement. Preference will be given to students registered in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, or the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies and to students with demonstrated financial need.

Katherine Fuller Scholarship
Established by Macdonald Institute Alumni in 1931 to honour Mrs. Katherine Fuller, the Superintendent of Macdonald Hall from 1904 until her retirement in 1931, and offered by the Mac-FACS Alumni Association. Application not required. [I0107]

H.H. Harshman Foundation Scholarships
The H.H. Harshman Foundation, long time supporters of the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, provides these scholarships. Short-listed candidates will be invited to an interview. Those unable to attend the interview are required to submit a 2-page statement describing their leadership activities, contributions to society and career aspirations. Qualification(s): Students in the B.A.Sc. program who have completed between 4.0 and 15.0 course credits . One award will be granted to a student who has completed between 8.0 and 10.0 credits, one to a student who has completed between 12.0 and 15.0 credits and one to a student who has completed between 4.0 and 15.0 credits.

Adelaide Hoodless Memorial Scholarships
Established in memory of Adelaide Hoodless, by her son, Bernard B. Hoodless. Students will be eligible for only one Adelaide Hoodless Memorial Scholarship. Apply by letter outlining extracurricular activities to the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, by April 1. [I0137]

Adelaide Hoodless Proficiency Scholarships
In memory of Adelaide Hoodless, the estate of her daughter, Muriel L. Bostwick (MAC '31D), has established a number of proficiency scholarships to students in the B.A.Sc. program. Students can receive up to two Adelaide Hoodless Proficiency Scholarships. Apply to the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition by April 1. [I0138]
Qualification(s): Students entering semester levels 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 of the B.A.Sc. program with a cumulative average of at least 70%. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Marie-Pier Lamoureux Memorial Scholarship
Established by family and friends in memory of Marie-Pier Lamoureux-Jones, a 1988 graduate of the Applied Human Nutrition major in the B.A.Sc. program. A student may only receive this scholarship once. Application not required. [I0359]
Qualification(s): Full-time undergraduate student entering semester 5, 6 or 7, who is enrolled in the Applied Human Nutrition major in the B.A.Sc. program. The scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest cumulative academic standing.

Mac '69 Scholarship
Established in 1976, by the class of Mac '69, in memory of classmate Patricia Cosgrove. Apply to Department of Family Studies and Applied Nutrition by April 1. [I0082]
Qualification(s): Students who have completed their 2nd or 3rd semester of the B.A.Sc. program by April. Preference will be given to students showing general proficiency in both curricular and extracurricular work.

Mac-FACS Alumni Association Scholarship - Family Relations and Applied Nutrition

Virginia McEwen Memorial Scholarships
An endowment has been established by the family and friends of Virginia McEwen, an alumna of Macdonald Institute, Class of '57 (B.H.SC.), recipient of a University of Guelph Master's degree in 1971 and an enthusiastic participant in a wide range of activities of the University of Guelph Alumni Association for many years. Qualification(s): Outstanding students in the B.A.Sc. co-op program. The first scholarship is awarded on admission to a student's first co-op work semester on the basis of academic performance in all courses completed prior to the first co-op work semester. The second scholarship is awarded to a student entering the second co-op work semester, based on an outstanding rating both on the student's Work Report and the Supervisor's Report on the student's performance, as well as on the basis of academic performance in all courses completed prior to the second co-op work semester.

Ontario Women's Institute Scholarships

Qualification(s): Students from Ontario with a minimum cumulative average of 70% who have completed 4.00 to 6.00 course credits in either the B.A.Sc. program or the Marketing Management or Housing and Real Estate Management major in the B.Comm program or any of the majors of the B.Comm. offered by the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and who have contributed to extracurricular activities. If other qualifications are equal, preference will be given to students who have participated in the Ontario 4-H program and/or students whose mothers are Women's Institute members.

Ottawa-Carleton 1983 International Ploughing Match Scholarships
Apply to Student Financial Services by April 1 with a completed Need Assessment Form and a letter outlining extracurricular activities. [I0340]
Qualification(s): Students from the Region of Ottawa-Carleton in the year they have completed semester 2 in the B.A.Sc. program and who have a cumulative average of 70% (minimum) standing in semesters 1 and 2. Participation in extracurricular activities and financial need will be considered.

Gertrude R. Peterson Memorial Scholarship

Qualification(s): Student in the Applied Human Nutrition major who obtains the highest mark in the course NUTR*3040, Nutritional Aspects of Disease. In the case of a tie, the award will be given to the student with the highest cumulative average.

Gerhard Scherf Memorial Scholarship
Established by the former College of Family and Consumer Studies Student Association Council (FACS SAC) in memory of Professor Scherf, a former faculty member in the Department of Consumer Studies. Qualification(s): Student who has successfully completed 10.00 credits in the B.A.Sc. program or a major offered by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management or the Department of Marketing & Consumer Studies. Applicants must have a minimum average of 70% in the last two full-time semesters and have made an outstanding contribution to the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences. Student must have served for at least one year on the board of directors of the CSAHS Student Alliance or participated in other College activities.

Morton and Pauline Schmidt Memorial Scholarship
Established by the family and friends of Morton G. and Pauline E. Schmidt of Kitchener, Ontario to recognize their appreciation of their daughters' education at the University of Guelph. Application not required. [I0429]
Qualification(s): Student in semester 5 or above of the Applied Human Nutrition major of the B.A.Sc. program with at least a 70% cumulative average and who does not hold another major scholarship concurrently. If two students are equally qualified, the student showing the greatest improvement in semester average will receive the award.

Sister Mary Frederick Sheehan Award
