In-course Bursaries

L. George and Margaret Baker Bursary
Robert Jack and M. Ismay Martin provide this bursary in memory of Ismay's parents, George and Margaret Baker in recognition of the contributions to society. This award is not tenable with other Senate Awards. Apply by letter with a completed Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. Awarded in the Winter semester. [I3052]
Qualification(s): Students who resided in Canada prior to their initial registration at he University of Guelph and who are in semesters three or four of the Food Science program are eligible. The award will be given to the student with an interest in functional foods and secondarily, to those who come form a rural community with greatest financial need.
Amount: One or more awards totalling $5,000
Credit Valley Conservation Authority Foundation Bursary
Apply with a completed Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. Awarded in the Winter semester. [I3007]
Qualification(s): Full-time student registered in B.A. Geography, B.SC. Geographic Information Systems and Environmental Analysis, B.SC.(Eng.) Water Resource Engineering, B.SC. (Agr.) Agroecosystem Management or B.SC.(Env.) Geography majors with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to a student who resides in a member municipality of the Credit Valley Authority Foundation.
Amount: One award of $500
Gwen Karr Memorial Bursary
Mr. T.K.C. Karr, O.A.C.'32, has provided an endowment fund to assist students in a degree or diploma program of the Ontario Agricultural College. Apply with a completed Need Assessment Form to Student Financial Services by October 7. Awarded in the Winter semester. [I3010]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. students with demonstrated financial need.
Amount: Varying amounts
Margaret Rich Bursary
Established by the Jean Rich Foundation to assist students with an academic interest in animal nutrition. Apply by October 7 with a completed Need Assessment Form and a letter indicating interest in animal nutrition and in being considered for this prestigious award, including evidence of at least 2.00 credits completed in nutrition courses. Qualification(s): Undergraduate Honours B.SC. students in any college, who have completed more than 10.00 credits may apply. The University Bursary Committee will use financial need assessment and satisfactory academic standing for continuation in the program of study to determine the recipient.
Amount: One award of $5,000 (paid $2,500 in the Fall and $2,500 in the Winter semesters)
Archie and Isabelle (Cook) Rintoul Bursary
Offered by Archie and Isabelle (Cook) Rintoul of O.A.C.'26 and MAC'27 respectively. Apply with a completed Need Assessment Form by October 7 to Student Financial Services. [I3018]
Qualification(s): Students enrolled in the B.A.Sc. program or the Hotel and Food Administration, Housing and Real Estate Management or Marketing Management majors of the B.COMM. program and the department of Environmental Biology in the B.SC., B.SC.(Agr.) or the B.SC.(Env.) degree programs. Students who have completed semester 4 [10.00 credits] and who have demonstrated financial need are eligible.
Amount: Two awards of $500 (one in each of the two colleges)
Robb Travel Grants
Travel grants have been provided by the estate of Martha Robb, Paris, Ontario in recognition of her love of agriculture. Apply to the Dean, O.A.C., by April 15. [T3028]
Qualification(s): O.A.C. students who are attending another university on a Letter of Permission.
Amount: Varying number of awards (80% of travel costs up to $750 per student)
