Analytical Biochemistry Award
Donated by Dr. Frances J. Sharom, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Awarded in the Winter semester. Application not required. [I0281]
Qualification(s): Students with the highest grades in CHEM*3570 Analytical Biochemistry. One award will be made in each semester that the course is offered. Eligible students must be continuing in a Major or Honours program administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

J.L. Campbell Scholarship
Established in honour of J.L. (Iain) Campbell, former Provost and Vice-President (Academic), of the University of Guelph from 1995 to 2000 and former Dean of the College of Physical and Engineering Science from 1987 to 1995.Application not required. [I0479]
Qualification(s): Student who is currently registered in one of the majors in Physics and who has completed at least 12.50 credits, with a high cumulative average (at least 80%) in the required Physics courses normally taken in semesters 3, 4, and 5 of the major.

Chemical Institute of Canada Prize

Qualification(s): Student enrolled in an honours major program administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry who has completed semester 6 in the previous calendar year with the highest cumulative average over 6 semesters in courses in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry.
Amount: One silver medal
Chemistry and Biochemistry Club Prize for Chemistry/Biochemistry Promotion
Donated by the Chemistry-Biochemistry Club, together with the Dean of C.P.E.S. Applicants should submit a one-page type-written summary outlining their efforts to promote the disciplines of chemistry or biochemistry within the University, or the community to the Executive of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Club by February 1st. Qualification(s): Student at any semester level enrolled in a degree program administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, who has made a significant contribution to promotion of chemistry or biochemistry.

College of Physical and Engineering Science Academic Scholarship

Qualification(s): Offered in the Winter semester to students who have completed at least 6 semesters of a College of Physical and Engineering Science program and have excellent grades but have not received awards recently.

College of Physical and Engineering Science Graduation Prize

College of Physical and Engineering Science Scholarship

Copernicus Scholarships in Physics

Qualification(s): Students who have completed semester 3 and are registered in semester 4 of one of the majors programs in Physics. To be eligible, students must have completed the courses PHYS*2440 and PHYS*2460 with a minimum of an A average. The awards will be made to the students with the highest average in the Physics courses taken in the first and second semesters and in PHYS*2440 and PHYS*2460.

Egelstaff Scholarship

George A. Farley Scholarship
Established in memory of George A. Farley, a chemistry graduate of the Class O.A.C.'33, and presented in the Winter semester. Application not required. [I0099]
Qualification(s): Student enrolled in a Co-op program administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and who has completed their second work term within the preceding calendar year. Work term reports, work term assessments and course grades will be considered. The student must have a cumulative average of at least 80%.

Guelph Soap Company Scholarship
The Guelph Soap Company donates this scholarship towards tuition fees, which is awarded in the Winter semester. Application not required. [I0288]
Qualification(s): Student enrolled in the organic chemistry courses CHEM*3750 or CHEM*3760 during the previous calendar year who has obtained the highest average in two courses in each of Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, and who is continuing in an honours major program administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Honours Applied Pharmaceutical Chemistry Scholarship
This scholarship is donated by the faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry through their scholarship trust fund and is awarded annually in the Winter semester. Application not required. [I0454]
Qualification(s): Student enrolled in the B.SC.(Tech.) honours major Applied Pharmaceutical Chemistry program who completed semester 4 in the previous calendar year, and has achieved the highest cumulative average over four semesters, providing that at least 3.00 credits offered by the Department have been taken.

Lange and Prokipcak Chemistry Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Professor Gordon L. Lange, Professor Joe M. Prokipcak, friends and colleagues. Professors Gordon L. Lange and Joe M. Prokipcak were valued members of the chemistry Faculty who retired in 2001. Their excellence in teaching was recognized within the university and nationwide, winning them a total of eleven teaching awards. Application not required. [I0528]
Qualification(s): Student in CPES with the highest average grade in CHEM*1040,1050 and 2700 and have completed a minimum of 10.0 credits up to a maximum of 14.75 credits.

MacNaughton Scholarship

MacKenzie Scholarship

R.C. Moffatt Memorial Scholarship in Physics
This $900 scholarship, created by the Estate of Professor R.C. Moffatt, is awarded each fall semester to a third or fourth year physics major (i.e., one who has completed a minimum of 10.0 credits up to a maximum of 19.75 credits) who has the highest cumulative average over 80%. A student may be considered for this award in both third and fourth years. This award is not tenable with any other Department of Physics scholarships . Application not required. [I00535]
Qualification(s): Student in year 3 or 4 (i.e., who has completed a minimum of 10.0 credits up to a maximum of 19.75 credits) enrolled as a physics major. The recipient will be selected on the basis of a high cumulative average over 80%.

Physics Travel Scholarship
This award is given annually to assist students with travel and/or housing costs associated with attending a semester or more of academic study or co-operative work experience at a recognized university outside Canada. Depending on availability of funds, more than one recipient may be selected for this award. Applications must be accompanied by a one-page description of the planned travel, including budget, to the Chair of the Department of Physics at least two months prior to departure. [T0400]
Qualification(s): Student who has completed at least semester 4 of one of the majors in the Physics program with a cumulative average of 80% or greater, and who has obtained a Letter of Permission to attend the University abroad.

Floyd Roadhouse Prize in Analytical Chemistry

Dr. Caesar V. Senoff Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Chemistry
The Senoff family and the College of Physical and Engineering Science, together with the University of Guelph Faculty Association and friends, have established this scholarship in memory of Dr. Caesar V. Senoff. Dr. Senoff discovered the first dinitrogen complex while completing his PhD at the University of Toronto, opening up a new field of chemistry. A valued member of the University of Guelph faculty from 1968 to 1996, his positive influence continues through his students and colleagues. Application not required. [I0517]
