Application Procedures

Applying From Outside Canada

Students applying from outside Canada are strongly advised to begin the application procedure six to eight months prior to the proposed entry point. Those applying for admission to the Fall semester should have their application, along with all required documentation, in Admission Services no later than March 1 in order to ensure a timely decision. There are 3 application options:

  1. Those applicants who do not intend to apply to another university within Ontario should complete the University of Guelph application form. This form is only available from Admission Services at http://www.uoguelph.ca/admissions/prospective/international/index.shtml.

  2. Applicants who wish to apply to more than one university within Ontario should contact the Ontario Universities' Application Centre and request a 105 application form. This form should be completed and returned to the Application Centre. All other documents should be sent directly to Admission Services. To request an application, contact the Ontario Universities' Application Centre by email at request@ouac.on.ca.

  3. An on-line application service for those who will be applying to more than one Ontario university is also provided by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre. Applicants can access the computerized application service at http://compass.ouac.on.ca.

  4. U.S. applicants who wish to apply only to the University of Guelph may download the University of Guelph application for students from the United States from our website at http://www.uoguelph.ca/admissions/prospective/american/index.shtml.

Applicants who wish to check on the status of their application or to verify that all required documentation has been received may contact us by emailing internat@registrar.uoguelph.ca. Applicants should not direct questions about the possibility of admission to this address. Please refer to previous sections on Applicants from Outside Ontario and Applicants from Universities Outside of Canada for general information on admission requirements. The Admission Committees, upon receipt of a completed application form and all pertinent documentation, will make specific admission assessments for individual applicants.
