X. Degree Programs
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Statistics (STAT)
Department of Mathematics and Statistics, College of Physical and Engineering Science
Students in this program will acquire the ability to use modern statistical methods in a variety of applications, the theoretical understanding necessary to develop statistical methods to meet new needs and a solid preparation for further study. As well, since statistical computing is a fundamental tool for the application and development of modern statistical methods, students will develop skills in computer applications programming using such highlevel languages as SAS and SPLUS.
Students may enter this major in any semester. A student wishing to declare the major must consult the Faculty Advisor.
