Some courses and/or course components may be delivered in an alternative delivery format through CourseLink and other online platforms. What do these delivery formats mean?
- AD-A REMOTE (Asynchronous) learning happens without the need for real-time interaction. It has no requirement for attendance at a specific time or location for any activities or exams. Your instructor will provide materials for reading, lectures for viewing, and assignments and assessments with deadlines, and you can access the material and satisfy these requirements based on your own schedule.
An Asynchronous course is similar to U of G Distance Education (DE) courses and uses a variety of tools and resources to provide students with an enriched and flexible online learning experience with no scheduled times. AD-A REMOTE courses will display differently than DE courses on WebAdvisor; please see the "How will courses display on WebAdvisor" section. - AD-S VIRTUAL (Synchronous) learning happens in real time, however there is no requirement for students to attend campus for any exams or activities. This means that you, your classmates, and your instructor interact through a specific online medium (e.g., Zoom), at a specific time (e.g., 9:30 to 10:20, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for some or all course activities.

Synchronous courses will show the specific day(s) and time in the "Times" column. The "Locations" column will say "AD-S VIRTUAL." Here's an example of how a course with a synchronous lecture and a synchronous lab will appear on WebAdvisor when you use the Subject Search or the "Catalog Listing" view in the Advanced Search:
In-person courses will show the day(s) and time in the "Times" column and the building and room number in the "Locations" column. Some courses will have a mixture of delivery formats, with the lecture offered in one format and the lab/seminar offered in a different format.
A course that has a synchronous lecture and an asynchronous lab will have "AD-S VIRTUAL LEC" and "AD-A REMOTE LAB" in the "Locations" column.
