Fulbright Canada offers a wide range of awards for academic exchange in numerous disciplines. Academic exchanges expose the scholar with new ideas and new perspectives, encourage networking with top-tier scholars, and highlight a different culture. Traditional Fulbright Scholar Awards are open to all disciplines, but Fulbright Canada is particularly interested in encouraging research on contemporary issues relevant to Canada, the United States and the relationship between the two countries. Applicants should also clearly document the need to be in residence in Canada to carry out the project. Fulbright Visiting Research Chairs are pre-arranged affiliations that allow Canadian scholars to conduct research/lecture on subject important to that University (see list of Visiting Research Chairs [1] offered at various U.S. universities)
Eligibility
Canadian Citizens who are exceptional scholars (established, post-doctoral researchers, and experienced professionals to conduct research, teach or undertake a combination of both activities. Must be proficient in English and hold a PhD or equivalent professional degree, or significant professional experience.
Funding Availability
Traditional Scholar Awards: US $12,500 for one semester (4 months) or US $25,000 full academic year (9 months) beginning either September 2017 or January 2018;
Visiting Research Chairs : US$25,000 for one semester (4 months) beginning either September 2017 or January 2018.
