Description
Mitacs has launched a special Globalink Research Award (GRA) G7 Artificial Intelligence Adoption Call to support research collaborations and researcher mobility between Canada and G7 countries. This opportunity is available exclusively to Full Member institutions as a membership benefit. The call supports high-quality AI research and encourages translation into real-world applications.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet standard Globalink Research Award eligibility requirements. [5]
Country eligibility: Canadian applicants may travel to a G7 country, or collaborators from a G7 country may travel to Canada. All G7 countries are eligible: the United Kingdom, Japan, France, the United States, Germany and Italy.
Funding Availability
Each intern will receive $6,000 per internship unit (IU):
- $6,000 research award to conduct one 12- to 24-week research project in the other country. This is one internship unit (IU).
- $12,000 research award to conduct one 24- to 48-week research project or two 12- to 24-week research projects in the other country. This is two internship units (IUs).
The Globalink Research Award G7 Artificial Intelligence Adoption Call operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a sufficient number of applications have been received to fully allocate the available IUs, the call will close. These are additional IUs outside the standard allocation stream. Mitacs encourage interested parties to apply early.

Projects may include up to five interns, with a maximum of two IUs per intern, subject to applicable lifetime limits.
