Description
The Cancer Research Society (CRS) and PROCURE are proud to announce the launch of a new funding competition to advance innovative translational research in prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canada. Despite its high prevalence, significant challenges remain in early detection, treatment, and improving patient outcomes. While many cases are slow-growing, some aggressive forms of prostate cancer are associated with poor prognosis and limited treatment options, highlighting the necessity for targeted research into these high-risk cases.
Proposals must be directly relevant to early detection or treatment of prostate cancer, and may include but are not limited to:
- Identification of predictive biomarkers of early stages of prostate cancer, disease progression, or treatment response;
- Discovery and development of novel treatments for prostate cancer patients;
- Investigation of mechanisms of treatment resistance to improve therapeutic strategies; and,
- Comprehensive correlative studies using diverse biospecimens.
