Mitacs Globalink Research Award – with Sorbonne Universities

Mitacs and Sorbonne Universities have partnered to support a unique, two way mobility opportunity. For a limited time, graduate students at Canadian universities, and Masters and PhD students at Sorbonne Universities can apply for a competitive Mitacs Globalink Research Award to support a research project jointly supervised by Canadian and Sorbonne University faculty.

For faculty, this program is a new opportunity to establish or reinforce research collaborations through graduate students’ international mobility between Canada and Sorbonne Universities.

2016 Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) program competition

The 2016 CECR competition is seeking to fund new centres that can build on Canada’s Research and Development (R&D) landscape by enabling the commercialization of research by matching clusters of academic research expertise with the needs of business, health practitioners and other end users. The emphasis of the CECR program is on commercialization, including new technologies, and goods and services. Centres seeking funding must be able to demonstrate a robust business plan and a feasible plan for sustainability.

The Globalink Research Award – Inria provides an opportunity for faculty at Canadian universities to strengthen existing international research collaborations and connect with colleagues at Inria at research centres in France through mobility of graduate students. Mitacs has partnered with Inria, a French research institution for computer science and applied mathematics, to support the two way mobility of students between Canadian universities and Inria Research Centres in France.

Environment Canada Economics and Environmental Policy Research Network (EEPRN) – Request for Proposals 2015-16

The Economics and Environmental Policy research Network (EEPRN), hosted by University of Ottawa, brings together leading researchers from across the country to study and develop innovative policies for protecting Canada’s environment while simultaneously building a stronger economic future. This project is undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Federal Department of the Environment. The Network mobilizes over 84 scholars from Canadian universities as well as internationally.

The Canadian High Arctic Research Station’s (CHARS) pan-northern S&T program has launched its’ first call for Proposals. This first CFP’s will initiate elements of the CHARS program by requesting proposals that will: strengthen monitoring in northern Canada; and fill research gaps in northern regions of significant resource development. For the purposes of CHARS, Canada’s Arctic is defined as the lands and waters that lie north of the permafrost line.
