Other Duties Described:
The primary responsibility of the sessional instructor is to teach an introductory physics course at the macroscropic and microscopic levels, with special emphasis on topics of importance to biology. It is a service course, which is required by approximately 70% of the B.Sc. majors. In addition, some students from various other programs select this course as an elective. Topics include properties of waves, acoustice and hearing, optical systems and vision, quantum natrue of radiation and its interaction with bio-molecules, electricity, high-energy radiation and radioactivity. Required Text: Physics for the Biological Sciences, 5th Edition, JWilliams, Sullivan, McFarland, Renninger, Hunt. This position has GTA and administrative support.
