FSQA*6400 is a new course that requires development of materials. It is a project based course whereby a student will work with on an identified industry based project. The student will have a University of Guelph advisor and an industry sponsor. All work will be conducted by distance education. A course manual must be developed which includes: a course outline that contains a description of all assessments; flow chart outlining management of the course; communication material for the student, University of Guelph advisor and industry sponsor. Timelines for completion of this project must also be established.

Required competence, capability, skill and ability related to course content: 
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the newly established FSQA DE program and how this research course fits within that program. This course involves the development of material for an industry based project, therefore it is expected that the candidate will have practical knowledge of food safety within different food industries and will be able to develop guidance material for completing research within these industries. Knowledge of the research process is essential.
