FITNESS CENTRE & RECREATION PROGRAMING
Campus recreation, whether in person or online is an integral component of the student experience that helps develop and reinforce characteristics such as time management and prioritizing that lead to academic success. We also know from evidence that participation in even short bursts of physical activity (only 10-15 minutes) allows us to better refocus on our next task and we are more efficient. In addition, recreation participants are more likely to report improved feelings of well-being and recreation programs that engage mindfulness and exercise can reduce perceived stress, anxiety, depression, and negative mood.
