Student Affairs at the University of Guelph is dedicated to providing quality programs and services to students which aid in the development of the person, scholar and citizen. Student Affairs at the University of Guelph is part of a greater collective of professionals among universities in North America. The discipline of Student Affairs began in 1937 after the American Council on Education published the first Student Personnel (Principles of Good Practices for Student Affairs). Student Affairs programming has become recognized for the development of the whole student. Student Affairs professionals are dedicated to ongoing research in order to best serve students, striving to be knowledgeable about the emerging trends of the students of the future, and continually evolving, to best serve students effectively.
