Athletics
Athletics provides a diverse spectrum of physical activities, including intercollegiate sports, intramurals, interest classes, clubs and unstructured recreation. A wide range of facilities and extensive building hours provide all students with the opportunity to become involved. Staff and faculty members are welcome to use the facilities on-campus by purchasing a membership which is subsidized 75% (of a normal membership) by the University. Child Care & Learning Centre (CCLC)
The University of Guelph’s early learning lab school, the Child Care and Learning Centre (CCLC), is a licensed child care centre with four toddler classrooms, four preschool classrooms, and a school-age seasonal outdoor learning program. As a lab school, the CCLC is research focused and committed to innovative practice. The CCLC’s pedagogical approach is multifaceted and inspired by a variety of methodologies and perspectives which support the mission, vision, and core values. Co-operative Education & Career Services (CECS)
The Co-operative Education & Career Services Department is an essential on-campus resource for students and alumni, providing career guidance through programs and services, helping students achieve their career potential. CECS provides assistance in all stages of the job search process from building the perfect resume, performing a stellar interview, to accepting job offers. Assistance is also available in determining what students can do with their degree and how to plan their career path. Recruit Guelph, the University of Guelph's online job board, is also available through CECS, giving students access to full time, co-op, part-time and summer jobs at their fingertips. Student Housing Services (SHS)
Student Housing Services provides residenceand services for over 5,000 students, including 2 locations for students with families. Student Housing aims to promote students' personal and academic success by creating communities that are staffed by teams who respond to student needs. Visit SHS' website. [4]
Student Experience
The Department of Student Experience cultivates learning and experiences that have a lasting and transformative impact on students and communities. Programs, services, advising, and support activities span the co-curricular and the community-at-large to help students explore their leadership capacity, optimize opportunities to learn through experience, develop their civic identity, and navigate the many transitions they experience at university and beyond. Student Experience is comprised of the Cultural Diversity Office, Multi-Faith Programs, Sexual and Gender Diversity, the Indigenous Student Centre, International Student Experience, Student Engagement and Leadership, and Neighbourhood Relations and Off-Campus Living. Student Wellness Services
Student Wellness Services is a comprehensive Department that provides the following services to students:
COUNSELLING SERVICES
Counselling Services [6] supports students as they work through personal challenges that affect their ability to succeed at school and in other areas of their lives. Services include individual and group therapy with qualified counsellors. When seeking support, students first meet with a Student Wellness Navigator to coordinate a service plan. Counselling is free at time of service. Counselling Drop-in service operates Monday- Friday 12:30-3:30 pm (Fall, Winter) and 2:00-3:30pm (Summer). Located in the J.T. Powell building.
ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES
Accessibility Services [7] facilitates access to the learning environment for students with disabilities through academic accommodations and support services in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code. Located at Student Wellness in the J.T. Powell Building. The SAS Exam Centre provides disability-related accommodations for tests and exams that are written on campus. Located on Level 2 of the Library.
STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES
Student Health Services [8] provides comprehensive health care to students and their immediate families. Most services are covered by the Student Health Plan. The Clinic is open weekdays for booked and same-day appointments, by calling 519-824-4120 extension 52131. Located on Level 1 of the J.T. Powell Building.
HEALTH & PERFORMANCE CENTRE
Health & Performance Centre [9] offers a wide range of diagnostic, rehabilitation and health promotion services, including physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, sports medicine, pedorthics, nutrition, and naturopathic medicine. Many services have coverage through the Student Health Plan. Located on Level 2 of the J.T. Powell Building.
WELLNESS EDUCATION & PROMOTION CENTRE
The Wellness Education & Promotion Centre [10] offers health and wellbeing programming, resources, and student peer to-peer support. Located on Level 1 of the J.T. Powell Building.
