We're Listening: Your Experience Matters

The past few months here in our U of G community have been really hard for all of us. We are all concerned about student wellness and want to make things better for you and our whole community. We know we can do better. We want to do better. We also know we can’t fix this alone. We need help.

The University has hired Overlap, a human-centered design firm. Overlap specializes in using empathy to deeply understand the needs of the people at the heart of a problem, and then co-design solutions with them.

We’re going to start by really listening to you and your experience. Over the next week, you’ll hear about Overlap joining us on campus. They will be engaging with you to better understand your experience and your needs. They’re going to engage with as many of you as possible. We know we can’t reach everyone with this initial engagement. We want you to know this is just our first step.

On March 14, 2017, we’ll be hosting a town hall.

This event will be a way for us all to come together as a community to:

  • Listen
  • Share what we’ve learned so far
  • Capture your experience (especially if you haven’t had a chance to do this)
  • Get your ideas on how we might improve things
  • Get your wisdom on things we can take action on

What we learn from your experience, your needs, and during the town hall will inform what we do next.

This is just the start. We’re here, we’re listening and we know that together better is absolutely possible.

We hope you’ll join us for the following:
