Develop Your Leadership Skills

In Student Experience, we know that all students have leadership capacity. Our role is to help you realize your leadership potential and support you along the way with expert guidance and information.

We offer direct support and training for elected and appointed student representatives, leadership training, education and development for all students and on-demand training, advising and consulting services.

All of our events, including workshops, student leader trainings and conferences are listed on GryphLife.

Are you thinking about getting involved in leadership at Guelph but aren’t sure where to start? Get in touch with our Leadership Education & Development Advisor, Shannon Thibodeau (shannon.thibodeau@uoguelph.ca). Shannon can help you figure out what your options are.

In addition to supporting students in their leadership journey, we serve as a resource to the University community on leadership education and skill development and have expertise on University policy and process as it relates to student organizations and governance.

It’s a launch pad for success with the Leadership Education Team and an opportunity to connect with and learn from your fellow student leaders. Every September student leaders from across campus come together for LAUNCH Training. This free event covers everything from policy updates, student risk management, organizational structure, event planning, networking, and more. Visit GryphLife for event details or contact student@uoguelph.ca for more information.

Student Leaders Interacting and Collaborating (SLIC) Conference

SLIC is the annual conference for student leaders in elected and appointed positions from across campus. Join the Leadership Education Team and dozens of other student leaders on campus to learn about responsible leadership, student organization structures, goal setting, meeting management and more. Connect with and hear from Senior Administration on what’s happening this coming year so you and your group can be prepared. Leave SLIC having an established leader support network and concrete plans for moving forward successfully. Visit GryphLife for more information and to register for the annual conference.
