Orientation Week Event Planners
Event planners play a central role in Orientation Week and we want to help you achieve your goals. We organize the proposal process which includes promoting collaboration, ensuring appropriate risk management, and finalizing the week’s schedule so that there are a variety of events that are both fun and meaningful for new students.
If you are interested in running an event during Orientation Week 2018 (September 1st - September 10th), we have in-person training (available March through early April) that will review the important steps in the event proposal process, and some key dates to be on the lookout for this summer. All student event planners must complete this training program, and we recommend the training for staff members new to running Orientation Week events. Browse through the resources below to help you with planning. There is information available on the schedule at a glance, details about the Innovation Fund, suggestions to help mitigate risks, and a summary of some important dates to remember. The Event Planner Starter Guide is a great first place to look for information on running an event. Please also feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
Of course, assessing the effectiveness of our programs is also important. We regularly solicit feedback through focus groups, surveys, and meetings with key stakeholders to debrief your experience. If you have an idea or suggestion, please give us a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org.
